It’s not a secret that St. Petersburg, Florida is a unique and special place. From beaches to art museums there’s so many great places to visit. Whether you’re visiting St. Petersburg, living here part time, or planning to move here these are some of our local gems you need to add to your bucket list.
Mazzaro’s
Located on 22nd Ave S is an Italian market that I guarantee is like no other market you’ve been to before. Handmade pasta, Italian imports, a wine cellar, fresh baked pastries, a coffee bar, and a deli where you can order lunch while you shop. You could spend hours in this place.

St. Pete College Planetarium
If you’re looking for a free date night, or a fun activity with the kids check out St. Pete College Planetarium. But make sure you get there early because seats go quickly. Pro tip! If you go to the second showing you will be able to go to the rooftop observatory.
They post the schedule here. And during off seasons they actually host the show virtually!
The Pink Streets
In Sunny St Petersburg, Florida, tucked away from life’s daily hustle and bustle, is a charming and serene enclave of homes affectionately known as The Pink Streets. Yes, the streets are really pink! In the 1920s George Cook had a big vision to develop a unique neighborhood and thought painting the streets pink would set it apart from the rest. When you look at an aerial view you can see the streets are actually curved which was intended to look like a skull, but his plans were never completed.
If you ever get a chance, drive through the pink streets to see some of the most unique mid century architecture St. Petersburg has to offer.

Historic Old Northeast
If you love historical neighborhoods you need to take a leisurely drive through the Old Northeast neighborhood containing close to 3,000 historic buildings. Lining the brick streets are a mix of bungalow and Mediterranean-style homes with so much charm and character.
Make sure you visit North Shore Park which is great for walking or biking along Coffee Pot Bay, you may even see some manatees.

Gulfport
Located on the border of St. Pete is the quaint city of Gulfport that is full of character. Okay so not technically in St. Pete, but Gulfport is a local favorite. It’s a great place for food, shopping, art, or a nice stroll. There’s a beach, marina, and a casino if you’re feeling lucky. It may be a small city, but there is always something to do in Gulfport. Check out their community events calendar
If you love art you will want to check out their First Friday Art Walk. With free live music and tons of great artists, it’s an awesome event for the whole family.
